Congratulations, LEA Grad!

We want to congratulate our newest graduate of the La Europa program!

The picture above is her last art therapy work and she said it reflects the hard work she has done at La Europa on understanding herself and her relationships to others. When she told us she wanted to take this piece with her (but not her other art therapy work, which was not always as pretty and happy as this one), we framed it with her quote on what the piece is about.

Her graduation ceremony was wonderful, with lots of gifts, funny memories, and tears. Her mom is as proud of her as we are, and although it was sad to see them go from our La Europa family, we know they will be successful as they move forward.

La Europa Welcomes New Residential Director

La Europa Academy is pleased to introduce Aaron Lopez as our new Residential Director. Aaron comes to La Europa with a wealth of experience in both residential and wilderness settings.  Aaron is a licensed substance abuse counselor and has been working in the mental health field for more than 15 years. As residential director, Aaron will be leading the residential team as they help our young women move through their daily activities, apply new therapeutic skills and participate in artistic and recreational activities. Aaron specializes in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and will be bringing this expertise to the residential team to enhance their role as skills coaches.
